How refreshers work

Available for our First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid courses, these half-day annual refreshers are a great way to keep your skills up to date. HSE guidelines say employers should make sure their first aiders remain competent, and annual refresher training is strongly recommended. A refresher gives you the chance to practise key skills and update your knowledge each year until requalification is due.

Who it's for

Anyone who already holds our First Aid at Work or Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Minimum age: 14 years

What's covered

• First Aid at Work refresher: managing an unresponsive casualty, the recovery position, CPR and choking (3 practical assessments)
• Paediatric First Aid refresher: CPR, the recovery position and choking (5 practical assessments)

FAQs

How long does my certificate last?

This depends on the course. First Aid at Work certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of issue, per HSE guidance, with annual refresher training recommended in between.
