Terms and Conditions Policy

Last updated Oct 2026

These terms apply to all course bookings made with Save a Life Academy, including but not limited to first aid, health & safety, fire safety, and mental health first aid training.

Booking & Payment

  1. Group bookings require a minimum of 8 learners.
  2. A 30% deposit is payable at the time of booking and is non-refundable.
  3. The remaining balance is due the day before the course start date.
  4. We accept payment by card or BACS.
  5. A substitute attendee may take the place of an original booker at no extra cost. This is only possible if there is time for the substitute to do the work and the original learner has not opened or started the online learning.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  1. Organizations or learners may cancel a booking up to 14 days before the course start date. The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances; any balance already paid will be refunded.
  2. Learners may reschedule a booking up to 7 days before the course start date at no extra cost.
  3. If a group booking falls below the minimum of 8 learners within 14 days of the course date, the course can be rescheduled.
  4. If a group booking falls below the minimum of 8 learners within 7 days of the course date, the course will still run with the reduced number of learners and the original invoice amount still stands.
  5. No-shows (non-attendance with no notice given) are handled on a case-by-case basis.
  6. Late arrivals who miss part of the course may be able to complete the missed session(s) during breaks or lunch. If more time is required this will be at an additional cost.
  7. If Save a Life Academy needs to cancel a course (for example, trainer illness, insufficient numbers, or severe weather), we will offer a reschedule.

Course Delivery & Certification

  1. Learners who do not pass an assessed element on their first attempt will be given up to 3 opportunities to revisit it. If they are still unsuccessful after 3 attempts, no certification will be issued and no refund will be given. Learners will be able to book onto another course and will receive specific feedback to progress.
  2. Certificate issue varies by course, normally with 3-7 days and is emailed to the learner.
  3. We can make reasonable adjustments for physical, learning, and mental health conditions. Learners should disclose any condition that may affect their participation in practical training at the time of booking.

Conduct & Safeguarding

Save a Life Academy reserves the right to remove a disruptive or unsafe learner from a course without refund.

Our trainers are DBS checked.

Data Protection

We collect and store booking information (such as name, contact details, and any disclosed medical information relevant to course participation) in order to deliver and administer your training. We handle this data in line with UK GDPR and will not share it with third parties except where required to issue certification or as required by law.

Liability

Save a Life Academy delivers training to recognized industry standards. While we aim to give every learner the skills and confidence to respond in an emergency, we cannot guarantee outcomes when first aid, safety, or mental health first aid skills are applied in real situations after the course, and we accept no liability for the actions of a learner once training has been completed. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it cannot be limited by law (for example, death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

Complaints

Any complaints should be directed to Amanda. We will respond within 14 days.

Photography & Filming Consent

We may photograph or film course sessions for marketing purposes. Consent is obtained separately via our photography/filming consent form, and learners may opt out at any time.
